Today was a very good day--very, very good. Amy and I showed up for our appointment at Kaiser OB/GYN. We were right on time. Amy got the standard battery of questions regarding her health and all that's fantastic--no problems there. Then nurse said, "now that we got all that boring business out of the way, let's get to the fun part--the baby's heart beat". The nurse pulled out her doppler probe, smeared some cold jelly on Amy's growing pudge and jabbed her with it. The nurse continued, "ok, sometimes it takes me a while to find it, but we'll find it". She probed around until we heard Amy's heart beat,
"there's your heart, mom". She continued to probe and then...
woosh, woosh, woosh, woosh....
"there it is!", the nurse says. She looked at her watch to count the heart beats per minute.
"your baby's beating at 130 per minute which makes me happy--that's a healthy sounding heart."
woosh, woosh, woosh, woosh...
yes... a good day for another miracle.
