Max, the future soccer star...

So, I'm sitting at my desk, talking to a co-worker, when all of a sudden, WHAM!!! I feel like Sigourney Weaver in Alien. There's something trying to escape from my belly!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!
I've been able to feel Max rolling around for about the past two weeks, but this was a definite kick. In my opinion, this is the best part of being pregnant. I love being able to feel, and sometimes interact with the baby. It's almost like having a video game attached to my belly!

Ok, that's it for now. Back to work and such...I just had to share!

How does it feel, does it hurt your stomach? Does the baby react when you feel a certain way(moods)

It doesn't hurt but it's surprising when it happens, especially the first few times. Take three fingers and press them hard up against your bicep. That's kind of what it feels like. Sometimes he feels like a paint roller under your belly too. It's cool.

That is really weird but cool. I didn't know you were going to Hawaii, have fun!

having a belly in your tummy feels like a giant paint roller?? wow.. Maybe he's going to be an artist, like picasso!

Does anybody read this, except Crissy or me. I was talking to Alex today. Amy, he said that the baby kicks and grabs your internal organs? Actually, I asked him that, does the baby grab you internal organs? Keep in touch.

Max doesn't ACTUALLY grab anything, but sometimes the way he's laying presses on my guts in such a way that it feels like they're being tugged. It doesn't hurt, really. It's sometimes surprising though, and often entertaining (like having a video game implanted in your belly).

On this trip, I've noticed that whenever it's time for a meal, Max starts wiggling around. I think he enjoys eating! He also has been thumping around a bit just before I go to bed at night. Last night was the first time I actually SAW him push out on my stomach.

Aloha! (Time for work)

Are you guys disobeying NMCI in Hawaii?

Amy said...

No, actually we're being quite nice to the NMCI people here...one of whom whose gender we've still not determined. It could go either way. Their silly computers are in the racks, all hooked up to the KVMs, not functioning, as usual :D.

How about calling the baby, Xerxes?

Actually, I thought of a name but we're sitting with it until it bugs us, if it doesn't, we'll keep it. It's a boy's name though since Amy is so sure that Max is a boy. The name is:

Maximillian Helios Cordero

Helios = Greek young god of the sun.

I like that name!

I like that name!

Keep in mind... The name "Max" has always been a generic name that Amy and I picked out. Sort of like, John Doe only cuter. I don't even think we were married yet when we came up with that name. Early in our marriage, Amy said to me one evening, "I talked to Max last night...". Well, what do you do with that information--that's something only a mother does. The name "Max" could still change... If it's a girl, Amy really liked the name, "Penelope"--a character in Homer's play, The Odyssey. I think she just likes how it sounds. I liked "Helios" because in greek mythology, is the young god of the sun and brother of Eos, the dawn. It's beautiful and timeless--it means something magnificent. Think about it, if he turns out to be famous, he'll have a cool name. If he turns out to be a bad guy, then he'll be a super-villain... he he...
