fifth week of development...

We determined that Max is roughly in its fifth week of development. It should have a heart beat and a the beginnings of a nervous system--or at least a rough draft. It's exciting to research this information on the web because there are so many resources.

Amy's not as nauseous as she was two weeks ago and says that she feels great. I'm nervous though as this is the first child that I have anything to contribute--so to speak. I'm internalizing the embryo/fetus's existence--trying to get philosophical about it and I don't Amy knows what to do with that reaction. Everything's an adjustment period for the two of us and I think I'm just a little more edgy about this process than she is.

Our first prenatal appointment is January 8, 2007 at 1pm. We'll go from there.
