Baptized!

Max celebrated his baptism today at the church of St. Mary.

He almost slept through his ceremony because it was celebrated during the time that he usually takes his after-breakfast nap. We had to wake him up, yank him out of his comfy car-seat and make our way to a beautiful, marble baptismal font. He was relaxed through most of the ceremony but after a while wanted to walk around and explore. We wouldn't let him, obviously, so we'd swap him back and forth until he calmed down. Probably a really good reason why we should have baptized Max before he could walk.

We probably should have celebrated his baptism months ago. Regardless, everyone cooperated wonderfully during the celebration. Afterwards the family celebrated a reception at Grandma's house while a tired baby slept. When Max woke up, he joined us at the party and took a dip in his kiddie pool.

It's interesting to read the first time that I talked about religion and Max. Back then I really wasn't sure about the religion or a baptism because I just wanted a healthy baby to be born whether it be Max or Maxine. Seems like things have come full circle now and we've much to be thankful for.

So it's official, Maximilian is now a card-carrying Catholic.
