Springtime is finally here and a happy, six month old Max is celebrating his first spring by taking in the sun on a warm Saturday morning. He also had his six month checkup and came through with flying colors--doing great! The doctor told us that we could start feeding Max anything that a toothless, old person would eat. So that means that he can start gumming more food now. He likes his fruits and veggies but is still pretty tied to the formula. He can't crawl yet but it looks like he wants to.
He worms up to his hands and knees and rocks back and forth for a few minutes then collpases and reaches for something else. Soon he'll figure out that he can actually move around and then we won't be able to stop him. As it is, it's sometimes difficult to change him because he wiggles and grabs whatever is handy. His doctor gave us carte-blanche on giving him treats so we It's interesting to note the things that distract him. Sometimes it can be an exercise in strength in balance to hold him because if he sees something that gets his attention, he'll swing wildly around and quickly arch his back around your arm. It feels like he's falling out. I've only seen him do that with Amy or myself. When other people carry him, he hangs on and doesn't screw around as much. more later...
